In June, Lauren was approved by the Northern Illinois Conference (her home conference) for Provisional Deacon status and on July 1, 2018 she was officially appointed to the Wesley Foundation by Bishop Sally Dyck. She is currently participating in the Minnesota Annual Conference’s three-year Clergy Leadership Academy.
Originally from Illinois, Lauren first discovered the life-changing potential of campus ministry as a college student at North Central College in Naperville, IL. A graduate of Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Lauren found her true ministry passion in campus ministry. She especially enjoys journeying with students as they strive to form their identities and claim their faith as their own. UMC deacons are clergy who seek to connect the church and the world through ministries of justice, compassion, word, and service.
In her spare time, Lauren enjoys music, theater, reading, and crafting. Lauren and her husband, Adam, also enjoy exploring the beauty of nature in their new state. They attend Centennial United Methodist Church St. Anthony Park Campus in St. Paul.
